"NOVALIE’S STORY”
Novalie Clare Nguyen was born to us on September 26, 2004.
In January 2009, Novalie was diagnosed with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy. Restrictive Cardiomyopathy is a rare heart condition in which the walls of the lower chambers of the heart (the ventricles) are abnormally rigid and cannot expand when the heart should be filling with blood. Her cardiologists told us the unimaginable. Novalie will need a heart transplant to save her life.
With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant patients are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-needy patients. Volunteers are raising funds for transplant patients like Novalie Nguyen. An estimated $65,000 is being raised by community volunteers.
Thanh and I would like to express our most sincere gratitude to our family, friends and community volunteers for their fund-raising efforts. Team Novalie volunteers have selflessly come forward on Novalie’s behalf. We truly understand the time, energy, and resources involved in such a campaign. Thanh and I are overwhelmed with the support and we are forever thankful to have you in our lives. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you all.
With much love and gratitude, Kathy & Thanh Nguyen
